Work Ethic - My professional journey started at a grocery store in Burien, Wa. as a "Night Stocker" working a graveyard shift for 3 years.
Ending each overnight shift by hand mopping the entire store.
I left my full time journeyman retail clerk union job to work at KZOK radio for minimum wage & six hours a week. ($20).
I left KZOK 14 years later as Chief Engineer to start my own technology company.

Origins of FM Metadata - 1992
The first application for FM on-air metadata was an outdoor billboard for KZOK radio in Seattle. As Chief Engineer, I was asked by my General Manager Mike Fowler to create an outdoor billboard that would compel passers by to tune into our radio station.

1992- The world's first Metadata Software!
Written in Visual Basic by Bob Arnold.

It interfaced with RCS Selector to import the daily program log.
Initially it supported stations playing vinyl, Carts and CD's!
Radio industry publications wrote about the project... Twice! Soon billboards were coast to coast!

Rebuilt Windows Software by Doug Smith, who went on to write TRE

Eventually the billboard project spread across the United States and into Europe
